Irrigation Scheduling Tradeshow – Ashburton Friday 7th June

BCI’s scheme nitrogen loss limit will reduce by 30% next year in the Ashburton area and by 36% by 2035 in the Hinds Plains area. To comply with these new strict limits, all shareholders will need to achieve “A” audit grades.

For BCI Shareholders, a key tool to assist with reducing N losses is to use an irrigation scheduling tool, such as a tape/probe, scheduling service, or a soil water budget. While half of BCI shareholders already make use of this technology,  the scheme has set deadlines for ALL shareholders to begin using an irrigation scheduling tool as we see this technology as integral to achieving Good Management Practice, thereby balancing the irrigation needs of our shareholders with sustaining and safeguarding the natural environment.

BCI supports and assists its shareholders on their journey to GMP. To help shareholders meet the deadlines, there is to be an Irrigation Scheduling Tradeshow on Friday 7 June with local suppliers showcasing their products and services. We will also have industry experts there to offer independent advice.

This tradeshow will be beneficial to shareholders and farm managers – with an overview of the environmental requirements around irrigation scheduling by Eva Harris (Irrigo Environmental Manager) followed by a Q&A session where any specific queries will be answered.

Additionally Techinical advice and support will be available with the opportunity to meet representatives from the following service providers; Agrioptics, Precision Farming, Water MEtrics, Streat/Aquaflex, Regen, Carrfields and Waterforce.

Please RSVP to claudia@irrigo.co.nz if you would like to attend.
