The BCI Nutrient Discharge resource consent, CRC162882, requires annual reporting of our nutrient losses and summarise how we are progressing with the Farm Environment Plan Audits and meeting the requirements of our Audited Self-Management Programme.
The 2015-16 season annual report was due 30th November 2016.
Key points to note in this year’s report:
- BCI has expanded to use 68% of the water allocated to the scheme
- Our shareholders have collectively only discharged 60% of our nutrient allowance in the 2015-16 season
- 91% of our farms achieved an “A” or “B” grade in their Farm Environment Plan Audits in the 2015-16 season
- Our Audited Self-Management programme was independently reviewed and assessed as being “…well organised…” and “… a good approach to the environmental management system”
All information was provided to Environment Canterbury on time and we have been graded fully compliant with all consent conditions.
